The Official Events Blog for Innovation Club at The American University of Beirut
In collaboration with MMKN Club - AUB, HSSS, and Jumpstart, Innovation Club AUB contributed to organizing “Get Active” which is a 2 day workshop at the American University of Beirut for fifty high school students from Ras El Matn, Hammena, Sawfar, Bayt Shabeb, Kafra, Aley, Dhour El Shwayr, and Ebedieh public schools. This event introduced these students to the concepts of goal setting, volunteering, and social entrepreneurship. Students had a tour around AUB campus, completed challenging activities, then attended lectures by certified professionals. On the first day of the workshop, Aya Barakat, ICF certified youth and young adult coach, Amina El Khaled, Active AUB student, gave presentations on the topic of goal setting. On the second day, Gilbert Doumit, a Lecturer at University of Saint Joseph on Social Entrepreneurship, and Ghada Feghali, the chairperson of MMKN NGO introduced the students to social entrepreneurship. Finally, the committed students were sent off with participation certificates as a token of appreciation of their hard work.
